2015 Safety Council Meeting 05.12.15
West Central Ohio Safety Council is excited to announce Sara Rauch, Director of Strategy & Planning for The Wellness Council of America, as the wellness speaker for our May Safety Council meeting. Sara also has some local ties as the daughter-in-law of Clyde Rauch, Chairman of Tuttle Construction. Prior to WELCOA, Sara managed the award-winning Well@Work employee wellness program for the 5,000 employees of BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, and ultimately served as Health Management Consultant for the BlueCross commercial book of business.
Sara Rauch will provide an overview of what is currently thought of as wellness programming in terms of strategies and outcomes, and what other organizations have done to incorporate safety into their wellness initiatives. She will discuss the best ways to leverage the intersection between what we classically think of as “wellness programming” and other people-focused institutions like Safety, Risk Management, and EAPs. And lastly, she will discuss the dangers of being too “program-focused” in our approach, introducing WELCOA’s new model for building high performing organizations. The model will show listeners what kind of alignment is needed among traditional organizational pillars to move beyond “programming” and begin to build health and safety standards and values into their corporate DNA. Participants will leave with specific things they can do immediately to begin transforming their organizations into high-performing cultures.
