DESCRIPTION:The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the Annual Chamber Breakfast will be on January 28\, 2022\, at the Civic and Convention Center. \n\n\n\nThis event will be from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. \n\n\n\nTopic:\n\nThe Labor Shortage Challenge\n\n\n\nSpeaker:\n\nJohn Trott\n\nThe Greater Ohio Workforce Board \n\nJohn will be sharing global\, national\, and Ohio data that explains what is creating the labor shortage we are all experiencing.  The data comes from multiple reliable sources like the DOL Bureau of Labor Statistics\, the Society for Human Resource Management\, and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.  We will look at the trends that were in place well before the pandemic and pandemic impacts and accelerations of trends.  We will look at the impact of unemployment benefits on worker availability as well.\n\n \n\nWe will conclude with a discussion of recommended practical strategies for businesses\, economic development\, and workforce partners.\n\n \n\nThe labor market analysis we are conducting at the Greater Ohio Workforce Board looks at gathering feedback from people who are not participating in the labor force or are partially participating in order to develop effective strategies to engage them back into the labor force.  We are not looking at businesses or industries at this time.\n\n\n\nWe will also be honoring the Chamber's 2021 Circle of Influence and presenting the 2021 Ambassador of the Year Award.\n\n\n\n*Registration cancellations MUST be received one (1) week prior to the event for a refund*
