- Hearing from Chris Adams, a legendary local basketball coach in Chris Adams (bio below pic)
Chris Adams (Lancaster High School Class of 1976) is a 1981 graduate of Wittenberg University (BS) and a 1985 graduate of The Ohio State University (MA). He spent four years at Springfield Catholic Central High School (1981-85) before serving 21 years at Elida High School (1985-2006), teaching biology, chemistry and physical science.
During his high school coaching career, Adams recorded a 380-189 record. He was named the Western Buckeye League Coach of the Year five times (1987, 1991, 1998, 2003, 2006), the District 8 Coach of the Year twice (1991, 1998), and was the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 1998. His teams made four regional appearances (1982, 1984, 1988, 1997), won 15 sectional titles and had just one losing season.
Adams also served as President of the District 8 Coaches Association during the 1992-93 season and as the President of the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association from 2002 until 2004.
